GuitarCab

An independent guitar-speaker review site built on measured data — frequency-response charts, Thiele-Small-derived feel and headroom visualisations, hand-written reviews, and a build-your-own shootout tool.

GuitarCab replaces marketing copy and forum hearsay with measured data. Every speaker page carries a frequency-response chart, Thiele-Small specifications, and three editorial lenses — Voice, Feel, and Headroom — written by hand, not generated.

The interactive layer is computational rather than canned: impedance curves are derived client-side from each speaker's Thiele-Small parameters, headroom curves are clamped to rated wattage, and a build-a-shootout tool lets readers pair any two reviewed speakers into a custom comparison page.

Production is a hybrid: a planning pipeline of stamping scripts drafts narrative scaffolding across the full 90-speaker catalogue, then every speaker that goes public is hand-rewritten. Only hand-reviewed speakers are exposed — the catalogue grows as the editorial work clears, not before.

The site launched on 24 April 2026 — twenty-five pages, closing out a 43-day build — and has since grown to fifteen reviewed speakers, eight shootouts and three essays, with post-launch work on search, accessibility and security hardening. In June 2026 the earlier SpeakerOhms experiment was 301-consolidated into GuitarCab, bringing its earned search authority with it.

Staged but not yet public: an in-browser amplifier engine (neural amp models compiled to WebAssembly) with 35 DI guitar clips, 7 amp captures and 6 impulse responses already shipped in the bundle — the groundwork for listening to speakers, not just reading about them.
